The Council for Art Education encourages support for school art programs and administers the Youth Art Month in March annually. The national theme this year is "Art Connects Us" which is very relevant for us all during the pandemic. Art in school helps with problem solving skills, creativity, observation and communication. Plus it's fun!
ESD20 is recognizing Youth Art Month by celebrating artwork created by our students across the district. Throughout March, we will share masterpieces created by students in grades K-8 in the #esd20creates gallery and on social media.
Please help us to honor our talented students by using the hashtag #esd20creates and appreciating their work!
D20 Kindergarten In-Person & Remote Students recently celebrated 100 Days of School! Waterbury made “I am 100 Days Brighter” crowns & Greenbrook celebrated 101 Days with a Dalmation theme. What a great Kindergarten tradition! Please enjoy this fun video of some of our youngest learners.
Please take the online 5Essentials Parent/Guardian Survey to share your insight to help improve your child's school. Survey is completely confidential and your name and responses will not be shared, only aggregate information is used. Survey open now at https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/
District 20 is excited share before & after videos of our new elementary and middle school "Innovation Centers." All of our libraries have undergone extensive renovations to allow for energizing future-ready learning spaces for our students. Each new "Innovation Center" offers independent and collaborative work spaces, mobile and comfortable furniture, large video wall, and green screen walls for making videos. The "Idea Labs" have state-of-the-art equipment and provide perfect spaces for STEM activities, collaboration and innovation!
We cannot wait to share the new spaces with all of our students!
