Dr. Jon Pokora earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in from Augustana College in 2004. In 2009, he earned his Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. In 2016, Dr. Pokora earned his Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Aurora University.
Dr. Pokora brings 16 years of experience in education to Waterbury and Keeneyville SD 20 with a variety of building and district office administrative roles. He began his teaching career in Carol Stream. Dr. Pokora later moved to become an assistant principal at Marquardt Middle School and later, for seven years, was principal at Winnebago Elementary School. He moved to the district office for the last two years in Berwyn.
Dr. Pokora lives in Palatine with his wife and three daughters (8, 6, and 4 years old). He spends his spare time chauffeuring around town his daughters. He is a Chicago sports fan and enjoys watching the Bears, Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks and Fire!
Ms. Kristine Stalzer brings over 20 years of educational experience to Keeneyville School District 20. Ms. Stalzer started her career as a para-professional as she was taking night classes at Elmhurst College, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in the area of Elementary Education. Graduating early, she obtained her substitute teacher license, prior to her first teaching position as a 5th grade classroom teacher.
Ms. Stalzer realized her passion for working with students with special needs, so she had earned her Learning Behavioral Specialist endorsement through Aurora University. Ms. Stalzer taught special education students, both in the public and private sector, for 17 years. Her career path took a turn after the birth of her daughter Stella, where she earned her Master’s Degree in the area of Educational Leadership, to be an advocate for students and their families. Her administrative career began with a position as a Special Education Supervisor, prior to her new role as an Assistant Principal at Waterbury Elementary School.
Ms. Stalzer currently resides in Bartlett, IL with her daughter Stella. This summer the family visited all of the sites on the Passport to Adventure, where Stella won the mayor’s medal in their hometown for the second year in a row. Ms. Stalzer is also a volunteer for the Girl Scouts, and enjoys painting, cooking, and baking in her spare time.
