Dr. Debbie J. Guzan
Dr. Debbie Guzan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from St. Xavier College in 1980. She received her Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University in 1989. Dr. Guzan earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University in 1991. Her dissertation was entitled An Analysis of Student Achievement in Mathematics as a Result of Direct and Indirect Staff Development Efforts Focused on the Problem-Solving Standard of The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Dr. Guzan has worked in the educational field since 1980. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher and has also worked with teachers and students as an Academic Excellence Teacher and Training Coordinator. Dr. Guzan has taught at the college level in the areas of Math Education and Educational Technology. She has also shared her knowledge as an educational consultant and given presentations at local, state and national conferences.
In 1993, Dr. Guzan became an Assistant Principal and in 1994 started her career as a Principal. She has been the Principal of Waterbury Elementary School since 2014.
